THE ACTIVITIES
On dry land, it's fun to explore the island and get back to nature on the well marked and perfectly maintained network of trails.
You know your trip won't be complete until you hike to the top of Mount Scenery - 2885 ft. It's the highest point in the Netherlands as Sabans are proud to tell you. And, along the trails you can enjoy being surrounded by the lush sights and sounds of the island's own tropical forest.
Visit the Trail Shop for more detailed information on a particular trail and acquire a deeper understanding of the flora & fauna and Saban lore. You can also set up a hiking schedule with James Johnson a.k.a. "Crocodile James".
Guided tours are available but entirely optional - most trails can be hiked on your own. But, ask James for a tour at the foot of the trail if you want to learn everything there is to know about the wild life and flora along the paths.
Diverse hiking and walking excursions over a vast network of trails. Guides are available and happy to show and explain the wildlife and flora.
World class scuba diving and snorkeling are available with three excellent dive shops (remember your c-card)
Wide array of training courses for beginners and advanced students
Rock climbing among the cliffs and crags
Arrange some boat snorkeling in the "hard to reach" spots or take a taxi and snorkel from Wells Bay around Torens Point - the only beach on Saba (saw sea turtles, snake eel, snapper, parrot fish and beautiful coral).
Visit JoBean Glass & Art Studio. JoBean has beautiful glass beads, jewelry and figurines. She does free demonstrations that amaze customers. She also teaches glass blowing classes by the half-day or day. Once you take the class, you can rent torch time to create your own glass jewelry or art.
Visit Saba Day Spa - (only 200 ft from the cottage) - Sally, the owner, is excellent - well worth a visit!

Blog Article by Heather (one of our most read):
Three dive shops will help you discover sites classified as among the best "spots" in the world. Saba's natural underwater reserve is unspoiled because safeguarding is a religion here.
We're happy to help book your dives. All dive shops know the cottage as it's been popular with divers for years - they send a minibus to pick you up in the morning.
Check out our blog's
Saba dive reports for more info and pictures of the dive sites!
